“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!“ (Matt. 23:37). It is God’s desire to gather us under His wings for protection and round His table for sustenance. Unfortunately sometimes we don’t get it. So for Jerusalem, God gave the immense responsibility of being the betrayer of the Saviour.
Sometimes the avenue of our gathering around God may be painful. But it’s ultimate end is to bring us to God. He always has a good plan for His children even through trying times. Children of God, let us hide under His wings and we shall overcome any trials that may come our way.
